The Stables

The Stables offers a short term rental in the Merchant City. This recently refurbished apartment is located in a converted stable building with free secure parking. This spacious apartment is in a fabulous central location in the trendy Merchant City surrounded by stunning architecture, high end shopping, top class restaurants, bustling trendy night life, a thriving art scene and an outstanding cafe culture.

Perfect location for exploring the city. Very comfortable for 4 of us, and it was fabulous having secure parking in the city. A great base with great facilities within the apartment itself. Jacqui was really helpful with all my questions which made the trip very easy.


Jacqui took the booking very last minute and was brilliant. Her responses were responses were super quick and she was really helpful. Place is in a great location and parking is amazing to have on site. Flat is homely and very clean. Lovely stay.

The Stables is situated in a quiet residential part of the the Merchant City with numerous, bars, restaurants and thriving nightlife only a few minutes walk away. Strathclyde University, The Barrowlands and St Lukes music venue are also around 5 minutes from the flat.

Close proximity to Glasgow’s major attractions

A ten minute walk will take you the oldest part of Glasgow which features the Provand’s Lordship, the Glasgow Cathedral and the Necropolis

One of Glasgow’s most famous parks is only a stone’s throw away

Just south of the apartment is Glasgow Green. This is Glasgow’s oldest park and is a fantastic space to explore the Peoples Palace, Nelsons Monument and the old Templeton Carpet Factory. WEST on the Green – a brewery, bar and restaurant which has a beer garden is also close by and is popular with both locals and tourists when the sun shines!

Easy access to Glasgow shopping and theatre

Turn left from the apartment and walk for just a few minutes to reach Glasgow Cross, the famous Tron Theatre and the popular Drygate Brewery

Glasgow’s major sporting and events venues are close by

Both Celtic Football Club and the Emirates Arena are around 8 minutes drive. Tollcross Swimming centre can also be reached within a 12 minutes drive and the SEC and the Hydro are just 10 minutes away by car or taxi.

The bright spacious lounge (360 sq feet) has velux windows along one wall which offer plenty of light. A sofa and two comfortable armchairs face the flatscreen TV which has Freeview channels, free Netflix and on demand apps such as BBC iPlayer.

The dining area is located at the far end of the room with a circular glass table and four chairs.

Self catering is easy with this well equipped kitchen

Preparing a meal is simple in this stylish kitchen which is equipped to a high standard with a fridge freezer, oven, hob, microwave and washing machine . We also provide tea, coffee and other essentials such as salt & pepper and olive oil to make your stay more comfortable.

A good night sleep is on offer in this short term rental in the Merchant City

A kingsize bed offers a restful night in this comfortable bedroom. The room has a large mirrored wardrobe and a chest of drawers. Hotel standard cotton bed linen are provided for all guests. A comfortable aerobed is also provided which sleeps two people.

The bright bathroom features a bath and an electric shower. Hotel standard towels are of course provided for all guests.

The gated pedestrian entrance features a cobblestone courtyard offering a quiet oasis in the hustle and bustle of the city.

Vehicles enter from a rear entrance which is controlled by a security fob and the flat is one of the few with a dedicated parking space.

Note the apartment is on the third floor so it may not be suitable for someone with mobility issues.

If the Stables is booked for the dates you require an alternative apartment for you is the Socair which is only a few minutes walk away.

The front of the Stables

 If travelling by car then the apartment can be easily reached from the M8, M74 and M77 motorways. Otherwise Argyle Street Train station is just an 8 minute walk away, Queen Street station is 10 minute by foot and Buchanan Street Bus station is also only a 15 minute stroll. If arriving by plane then Glasgow Airport is a 20 minute drive away.
